Duration Onyx Black Shingle Re-Roof

Owens Corning Duration Onyx Black shingles, new valleys, ridge caps and skylight flashing.

This house is white-sided, with a red metal roof on the main section. The shingled roofs on the lower sections were the ones we replaced. We hauled the Duration bundles in on a trailer and stripped the old roofing down to the deck.

With the deck clear, we rolled out synthetic underlayment and staged the Onyx Black bundles along the ridge. The crew shingled up from the eaves, cut in new valleys where the roof sections meet, and flashed the skylight as the field came up around it.

We finished by capping every hip and ridge. The last photos, taken late in the day, show the hips and valleys finished in solid black, with the countryside behind.
