Pool Deck #2 — Cream House

August 2026 · 9 photos

Framing, decking and railings on the pool deck at the cream house.

This job ran a new deck from the back porch of a cream-sided house out to the above-ground pool. We started by setting posts in the yard between the house and the pool wall, braced in place until the framing tied them together.

Next came the frame. Joists ran off the existing covered porch and out along the pool, and once the frame was set we started laying deck boards. The decking went down at the pool end and along the side of the house.

By the last day the boards reached the pool and wood railings were up along both open sides. The new deck meets the older stained porch deck, so there is one straight walk from the back door to the water.
