Porch Roof Tied Into the House Roof

August 2026 · 7 photos

Porch roof built off the side of the house and tied into the existing house roof: area staked and dug out, posts set and braced, beam set and leveled.

This porch roof comes off the side of the house. On August 25 we staked out the area along the wall, dug it out with the excavator and spread stone over it.

Posts went in next and were braced in place. On August 26 we set a beam across the posts and checked it with a level, because the new roof has to meet the old one dead on.

From there the porch roof was framed and tied into the existing house roof, so the two read as one roof line. Finished photos of the framing and the metal are coming; this page shows the build so far.
